Fellowship

Fellowship. A strange word, don't you think?
Wikipedia defines it as "referring to individual Christians who are in Christian communion with each other".
Google says it is "family: an association of people who share common beliefs or activities".
Stating that it dates back to the 12th century, Webster's describes fellowship as:
1. Companionship, company
2 a : community of interest, activity, feeling, or experience b : the state of being a fellow or associate
3 : a company of equals or friends : association
4 : the quality or state of being comradely

The word and its meaning are resounding in me this morning because I was blessed to fellowship in many ways yesterday, ending my week in so much beauty of friendship. At work, the unit wasn't terribly busy, and while stocking rooms, arranging things and tidying the unit we were able to have blessed quality time with one another... our time together was heightened by the thrill of a patient coming in and delivering VERY quickly. Isn't it wonderful to be part of a team? I glean so much from them! From their years of experience, from their teachers' hearts... to belong with them means the world to me.

In the evening, I got to join my Sunday School class for our Christmas party. I missed the dinner part, but made the music and light show. It's always a bummer to show up to events for couples when your husband is at work. So, I was a bit reluctant at first. I called Crystal, trying to see if I could meet up with them and try to find the rest of the class together in the dark, pre-music & light show. She was happy to meet/wait up for me so we could find the crew as a team, bless her! She and her sweet hubby and son.... and guys, the evening just flew. Once I was with them... once I was in the midst of my classmates and friends... time changed. We laughed, some of us cried (love you!), and just had a dang blast together. I was all hopped up on coffee and sweets, and I didn't want the night to end! I felt like I was exactly where God wanted me - in the midst of my friends and Him.

Who do you belong with?? How do you fellowship? As a Baptist, I so often think of church 'fellowships' with enormous casseroles and never-ending dessert tables. There is that, but also SO much more to fellowshipping. What about you? Comment and let me know what you think!

proclaiming..

I made this banner at the request of a friend about a year ago... and with changes in job/life, we just never connected to get the banner to her! There it sat... in my office closet for all these months.. I've decided I just really love this word, and how the whole thing turned out in general. ;) Therefore, it's now going to live with me!

I'm kinda diggin' it on my tree... Thoughts??

You're Here

Find and buy this song on iTunes... beautiful Christmas song!

You're Here
by Francesca Batistelli

Hold on now, gotta take a deep breath
I don't know what to say when I look in your eyes
You made the world before I was born
but here I am holdin' you in my arms tonight

Noel, Noel
Jesus, our Emmanuel
You're here, I'm holding you so near
I'm staring into the face of my Savior, King and Creator
You could've left us on our own,
but you're here...

I don't know how long I'm gonna have you for
but I'll be watching when you change the world
I look at your hands, they're still so small
Some day you're gonna stretch them out and save us all

Noel, Noel
God with us, Emmanuel
You're here, I'm holding you so near
I'm staring into the face of my Savior, King and Creator
You could've left us on our own,
but you're here

Some day I'm gonna look back on this
the night that God became a baby boy
Some day you're gonna go home again
but you'll leave your spirit and flood the world with joy

You'll be here, I'm holding you so near
I'm staring into the face of our Savior, King and Creator
You could have left me on my own
but you're here, you're here

Hallelujah, you're here
Hallelujah, you're here
