crazy-awesome weekend..

Have you ever had one of those extremely fun but oh-so-full weekends? Where you gab with tons of friends, eat amazing food (and lots of it..), and smile so much your cheeks hurt?!

That was my weekend.

Phenomenal..

Exhausting.. but so worth it!

Friday, we had the day off, and Stevie went to my parents' house to do a few things to help my dad out. I tidied up some things around the house and organized some stuff post-Budafest. Then we partook in the Deacon/Staff Christmas Party. Delicious food. That reminds me.. there is one lady I need to corner and get her recipe for this ridiculously saliva-inducing salad..

Anyhoo.. ;)

Saturday was an all out CLEANfest. All the things I'd been procastinating, like cleaning the floors, HAD to be done. Baby shower #1 for this weekend was afoot, afterall! That went from 4ish to 9:30ish... friends from work, we were all dying to run our mouths and have a blast together with no fear of having a call-light to answer! ;) Baby Boy on the way for my dear friend Shannon... we poured out our love in the form of gifts and wonderful food & company.. a fabulous time had by all except my beagle, Molly. She was a bit terrified of all the children who descended upon casa Helm. Most of her time was spent under the bed in our guest room. Poor gal.

Sunday came and baby shower #2 for the weekend was up to bat! Jenny C is having a baby girl, and we were eagerly anticipating this gathering and her surprise hostess gift! It goes SO perfectly with her nursery decor/color scheme for baby Kennedy that we simply couldn't resist!
The gang arrived and set out delicious food & the cutest cake ever ;) and we oohed and ahhed as she tore through diaper genies, warm baby clothes & cute baby shoes...

This is why God blessed me with this home. I'm sure of it. He wants me to open it to others. To show His giving and loving spirit. Instead of freaking out about the chocolate-covered hands of toddlers heading toward my *totally* un-childproof furniture, I smiled.. because it's just furniture.. it's just stuff. Stuff... seems so unimportant when I call it that.. and that is a truth I want to sink deep into my being this season (and beyond..)

God is good.. all the time.
All the time.. God is good.
