oh iPhone..

I like to text.

No.. that isn't strong enough. I thrive off texting.

And before you pray for my soul and 'tsk tsk tsk' me, know that the thriving part comes from getting to encourage friends by letting them know they are on my mind right THEN.. it comes from texting loving and encouraging words. Sure, you can see from above that I also take care of Mary Kay orders and other things on my phone via text. So, I confess! More than encouragement and love is flowing through my iPhone... there are some dollar signs as well. ;)

Since I did the update this week, I have had quite a load of iPhone drama. It coincided with a trip to Houston in which I really wouldn't have anything to do since I'm here with Stevie, who is attending the 30th anniversary PCCA conference. On the way to Houston, I wondered aloud to Stevie, "I wonder why I haven't heard back from any of my girls... they usually text right back! It just isn't like them to not respond..."

I became very irritated at my phone. I confess I was mad at a stupid phone. I sent emails with screen shots (of all the texts that had sent with no response) to my girlfriends.. And I got emails back proclaiming, "Oh NO! I knew something had to be up when you didn't respond to my text!"

Then came a complication. My texts started going through as Stevie. To people in MY phone.

Then they stopped going through completely. And they had already stopped coming in.

How much time and effort did I put into solving this iPhone conundrum?

How much did I talk about it??

I'm sad to say - I wasted a lot.. TOO MUCH .. of my focus on my electronic device of choice. Time that I could have been quiet and still. Time that I could have been reflecting on how God never malfunctions in my life.

I'm happy to report that while my phone is nearby, I do have it turned off right now. My phone is fixed. But texting can wait. Thank God for the little bits of clarity in my life.
